In addition to the possibility of carbon monoxide poisoning in coal stoves for heating, the following prevention points should be specially reminded in daily life:

1. When using coal fires indoors, safety measures should be taken (such as chimneys, small ventilation windows, wind hoods, etc.), and the installation of coal furnace chimneys should be reasonable. Coal stoves without chimneys should be placed outdoors at night. Meanwhile, install a carbon monoxide alarm indoors. If carbon monoxide leak alarms are installed, the danger can be predicted in advance.

2. To use gas water heaters correctly, do not use outdated gas water heaters, such as direct discharge water heaters and flue gas water heaters, both of which are explicitly prohibited from production and sales by the state; Do not use expired gas water heaters; It is best to have a professional install the water heater, and it is not allowed to install, dismantle, or modify gas appliances on your own; When taking a shower in winter, the bathroom doors and windows should not be tightly closed, and the bathing time should not be too long. If the above is not done properly, it is recommended to install carbon monoxide leak alarms where necessary, which can issue a warning of carbon monoxide leakage in advance.

3. When driving, do not let the engine idle for a long time; When the car is parked, do not turn on the air conditioning for too long; Even while driving, it is important to frequently open the windows to create convection in the air inside and outside the car. Stop and rest immediately if feeling unwell; When driving or riding an air-conditioned car and feeling dizzy, heavy, or weak in limbs, one should open the window in a timely manner to breathe fresh air. For safety reasons, it is recommended to install carbon monoxide leak alarms in the car.
