Gas leak alarm is an effective device for preventing gas accidents caused by gas leaks. How should a gas leak alarm be installed and used? Let's take a look with SUMMING below.

Type of gas leak alarm. First, determine whether natural gas or liquefied gas is used at home, and then choose the corresponding gas leak alarm. If the alarm detects that the gas type does not match the gas used, it will not sound an alarm or the alarm will be inaccurate. Places that use natural gas should choose combustible gas detectors that detect methane. Places that use liquefied petroleum gas should choose combustible gas detectors that detect liquefied petroleum gas.

Installation height. The gas leak alarm should be installed in the area where gas leaks accumulate. It should be noted that the installation positions of alarm detectors for natural gas and liquefied gas are completely opposite. Natural gas is lighter than air and will float upwards after leakage, so it needs to be installed above the gas source. The standard stipulates that the detector should be set within 30 centimeters of the ceiling. Liquefied gas is heavier than air and sinks downward after leakage, accumulating in low-lying areas. Therefore, it should be installed below the gas source and placed within 30 centimeters above the ground.

Installation location. Most alarm controllers are usually installed on gas usage sites, such as in the kitchen for general household use. But this approach is not entirely correct, and it is best to set up combustible gas alarm controllers in a fire control room or duty room with dedicated personnel on duty.
